Effective Date: July 2, 2025

At Tiny Einstein Child Development Center (“Tiny Einstein,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we care deeply about your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we keep it safe, and what choices you have. Our goal is to be transparent, clear, and respectful in how we handle your data—especially because we work with families and young children.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use children’s data for advertising or profiling.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Respond to tour requests, waitlist inquiries, and applications
  • Communicate about your child’s enrollment or tour
  • Share updates, reminders, and news (e.g., by email or SMS)
  • Improve our website and services (analytics, troubleshooting)

We honor browser-based “Do Not Track” (DNT) settings by disabling personalized ad tracking from our advertising partners if DNT is enabled.

You can also manage or disable cookies through your browser or opt out of tracking via:

4. Children’s Privacy

Our site is designed for parents, not children under 13. We collect child data (e.g., name, age, developmental notes) only with verifiable parental consent, obtained through enrollment forms or email confirmation.

We use this data solely for educational and enrollment purposes, in compliance with COPPA and FERPA. We do not share, sell, or use children’s data for marketing.

Under FERPA, parents have the right to review, correct, or challenge their child’s educational records (e.g., developmental notes, attendance). To access these records, email ContactUs@TinyEinstein.org or call (650) 518-7777.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only when necessary:

  • Service providers: ProCare receives only data needed for enrollment (e.g., child’s name, birth date, parent contacts). Google Workspace handles communication (e.g., emails). All providers are contractually obligated to meet CCPA-level security standards and undergo periodic reviews.
  • Analytics tools: Google Analytics and Meta Pixel receive anonymized data (e.g., IP address, site behavior) to improve our website. No personally identifiable data (like names or emails) is shared for analytics.
  • Regulators: We share data with licensing bodies (e.g., California Department of Social Services) if legally required.
  • Business changes: In case of a sale or merger, we’ll notify you before transferring data.

We carefully vet all third-party partners and require signed agreements that ensure your data is protected and only used for defined purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • Children’s data is kept only during their enrollment and up to 1 year after unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Parent data (e.g., name, email, phone) is retained for up to 3 years after your last interaction with us, to comply with licensing requirements.
  • Analytics data (e.g., via Google Analytics) is retained for up to 26 months and then anonymized.

To request deletion, email us at ContactUs@TinyEinstein.org.

7. Your Choices

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Ask us to correct or delete your data
  • Opt out of marketing emails (link in every email footer)
  • Opt out of analytics/tracking cookies via your browser

If you reside in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR:

  • Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured format.
  • Right to be forgotten: Request deletion of your data beyond what’s required for licensing.
  • Data transfers: Any data shared outside the U.S. (e.g., to EU-based providers) is protected under the Data Privacy Framework.

To exercise your rights, email ContactUs@TinyEinstein.org.

8. Data Security

We store your information on secure servers and use industry-standard measures to protect it, including:

  • Encrypted communications (HTTPS)
  • Firewalls and network security protocols
  • Role-based staff access and training
  • Secure cloud storage platforms (SOC 2-compliant)

However, no method is 100% secure. We recommend using strong passwords and avoiding the sharing of sensitive information via public or unencrypted channels.
